Inlays & Onlays

Restorative Dental Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are key restorative treatments used to repair teeth with significant damage or decay, especially when more than half of the tooth's biting surface is affected. At Crystal Clear Dental Spa, we offer porcelain, gold, or composite resin inlays and onlays that restore your tooth's shape, function, and appearance. Porcelain has become increasingly popular for its durability and ability to match the natural color of your teeth. Inlays fit inside the tooth’s cusps, while onlays extend to cover more of the tooth’s surface. Both options provide a durable, aesthetically pleasing solution for restoring your smile.

Lightweight And Durable Alternatives

Receiving inlays and onlays at Crystal Clear Dental Spa involves two visits to our Jacksonville office. During the first visit, Dr. Hu will remove the damaged or decayed portion of the tooth and prepare it for the restoration. A detailed impression of the tooth is taken and sent to a lab, where the custom inlay or onlay is created. A temporary sealant is applied while the final restoration is being made. At the second visit, the temporary sealant is removed, and Dr. Hu will check the fit and make any necessary adjustments. Once the fit is perfect, the restoration is bonded to the tooth and polished to a smooth finish. Inlays and onlays are highly durable, typically lasting between 10 to 30 years, and are an excellent way to restore tooth strength and functionality.
